The European Chemicals Agency reports that it has received nearly 7,000 registrations ahead of the final 2018 deadline under REACH. The registrations cover more than 3,500 substances. The 2018 deadline relates to substances manufactured within or imported into the EU in smaller quantities and it was expected that this would have a particular impact on smaller companies; however, statistics so far show that 85% of registrations have come from large organisations.
